Taking time off from her whirlwind success which saw her winning the "Record of the Year" and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy for her contribution to the Gotye global smash "Somebody That I Used To Know”, Kimbra is gliding back onto our shores with a new album under her glitzy belt, titled “The Golden Echo” (2014).
Her debut album “Vows” and hit collaboration with Gotye has merely introduced New Zealand native KIMBRA to the rest of the world. And our 90s girl ain’t stopping there. “The Golden Echo” has already achieved critical acclaim worldwide with prestigious media outlets like The LA Times and Rolling Stone Magazine both naming it one of their Top Ten Albums of the Year.
Inspired by ‘70s R&B and ‘90s pop, “The Golden Echo” is a vibrant, vivid and impressive marriage of pop and funk that expresses youthful enthusiasm as well as mature introspection, starting from the introductory upbeat track “Teen Heat” to the closing more reflective tone of “Waltz Me To the Grave”.
Kimbra has carved out a magnificent reputation as a live performer, thrilling audiences all over the world, gracing stages like Coachella, Falls, and Laneway Festival.
